Key ISO standards and certifications for data centers held by Global Switch.

Global Switch is certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 27001 across all locations and by having these we support our customers in achieving their own certifications.

Quality Management ISO 9001:2015

Global Switch seeks to provide a high quality service to its customers that meets and exceeds their expectations through specialist, robust, critical environment processes and procedures that minimize their risk and maximize uptime. Global Switch Frankfurt is certified to 9001:2015 and all other Global Switch data centers are currently transitioning from 9001:2008 to 9001:2015, having successfully defined and implemented the Global Switch quality management systems, which include the incorporation of and commitment to best practice methodology.

Environmental Management ISO 14001:2015

Global Switch is committed to reducing the impact of all of its data centers on the environment through our energy efficiency programs aimed at reducing carbon emissions and providing green energy solutions to its customers. Global Switch Frankfurt is certified to 14001:2015 and all other Global Switch data centers are currently transitioning from 14001:2004 to 14001:2015 demonstrating the effective management of environmental responsibilities.

Information Security Management ISO 27001:2013

Global Switch is committed to providing a highly secure environment for its customers and in keeping its assets, including people, processes and IT systems safe and secure. All Global Switch sites are certified to 27001:2013 enabling a systematic approach to security information management across our global locations.

Energy management ISO 50001:2011

Through certification to ISO 50001:2011, Global Switch Madrid has established best practice systems and processes to continuously improve the efficiency and performance of energy usage. The ISO 50001:2011 framework includes the development of an energy efficiency policy, the measurement of energy-efficient systems and planning of energy management strategies.

Occupational Health and Safety Management
OHSAS 18001:2007

As an owner and operator of mission-critical environments, Global Switch has health and safety management at the core of its operational best practices. OHSAS 18001:2007 defines the best practice requirements across all Global Switch data centers for occupational health and safety management providing a framework to identify, manage and minimize risks to our customers, staff, and other stakeholders.

International Standards for Assurance Engagements (ISAE) 3402

Global Switch Amsterdam is certified to ISAE 3402, an international standard which represents an in-depth audit of a service organization's control objectives and activities. These activities often include controls over information security and related processes. As part of this, Global Switch makes available to customers and their auditors a comprehensive independent auditor's report, that covers our internal control systems with respect to housing services for customers' ICT infrastructures.

PCI-DSS service provider compliance (physical security)

Global Switch Amsterdam is PCI-DSS compliant, a requirement for customers who store, process or transmit cardholder information and process card payments. Global Switch is subject to quarterly external vulnerability scans by an approved auditor to ensure continued compliance.

AWS Direct Connect Partner

Global Switch's partnership with AWS Direct Connect provides further options for customers seeking to implement cloud solutions. Whether a large enterprise or a start-up experiencing significant growth, all can benefit from leveraging the AWS Direct Connect capabilities.

Building Research Establishment's Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM)

The first stage of Global Switch's planned expansion of its Amsterdam data center achieved a BREEAM-NL Rating of Very Good. BREEAM is the world's foremost environmental assessment method and rating system for buildings, setting the standard for best practice in sustainable building design, construction and operation and has become one of the most comprehensive and widely recognized measures of a building's environmental performance.

Carbon Saver Gold Standard

Global Switch has a comprehensive energy management strategy and works closely with its customers to reduce its collective carbon footprint. Global Switch London has recently been re-accredited with the Gold Carbon Saver Standard having demonstrated continuous reduction in carbon emissions over the previous five years.

Membership of the Climate Change Agreement (CCA) Scheme in the United Kingdom

As the first large scale, carrier neutral, multi tenanted data center provider in London to participate in the Climate Change Agreement (CCA), Global Switch's London customers are not liable for the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) payments. This scheme targets the sensible use of energy and annual targeted improvements.

Leadership in Energy and Enivronmetal Design (LEED)

The first stage of Global Switch Sydney East has achieved a LEED Gold certification. LEED is a green building certification recognized across the globe as the premier mark of achievement in green building. LEED recognizes best-in-class building strategies and practices.
